Our ‘Black Label’ luxury designed tour will have you accompanied by two accomplished Golf Tour Professionals, who will greet you on arrival and guide you throughout your trip in New Zealand. Both Professionals will join your party on the courses, and assist you with necessary coaching and mental approaches to help you take your game to another level.
You will play with and against the Tour Professionals on top ranked
championship courses in central parts of the North Island of New Zealand,
whilst sampling fine cuisine, local wine and enjoying New Zealand’s natural
landscape and scenery.
The team at Horizon Golf Tours will design any programme around your
golf to suit your parties interests and requirements, from sky diving
in Taupo to wine trails throughout the Hawkes Bay, we can organise it
for you. Your itinerary is only limited by your imagination.
Our recommended duration is for 6 nights, 7 days (it can be altered if you wish) and is best suited to 4 or 6 persons. It kicks off in one of the main tourist destinations of New Zealand, Lake Taupo. You will stay here for 2 nights at the award winning Luxury Point Villas of Whakamoenga Point Estate. You have the option of playing on two top championship courses while in Taupo. The Jack Nicklaus designed Kinloch Golf Club and New Zealand’s No.1 Resort course Wairakei Resort. Trout fishing, Maori village tours or jet boating to the famous Huka Falls are just a few of the amazing options available when not on the golf courses.
After completing your stay at Point Villas, your party will be met by our helicopter pilot and taken on a 30 minute scenic flight to a remote location in the hills of Northern Hawkes Bay. Here lies Rotongaio Lodge, (the home of Horizon Golf Tours) a private lodge used exclusively for guests of Horizon Tours. Rotongaio Lodge is set on the banks of Lake Rotoroa (pictured) which is spring fed and has an abundance of Rainbow trout. If hunting’s your game, then we will fly you by helicopter into the surrounding ranges which is full with Red and Sika deer. Combine that with a large variety of bird and wildlife, this location is where you will experience the ‘real’ New Zealand.
Your party will stay at Rotongaio for 2 nights and have the pleasure of a professional chef preparing gourmet dishes made with only the finest New Zealand produce. These will be served by your personal host who will be on hand to top up any drinks you choose to indulge in, and make your stay as comfortable as possible. All beverages are provided complimentary throughout your stay at Rotonagio Lodge.
We recommend you play golf at the Hastings Golf Club which is a tree lined, manicured course with lush fairways in the heart of the Hawkes Bay wine area.
Close by is Cape Kidnappers Golf Course which was completed in 2004.
Cape Kidnappers has been hailed as one of the great modern marvels in golf and is currently ranked the 41st best golf course in the world by Golf Magazine. The course was designed by legendary architect, Tom Doak. It challenges all levels of golfers and has many breath-taking views over the Pacific Ocean. It is also home to the annual ‘Kiwi Challenge’.
The final 2 nights of this unique New Zealand experience you will be staying at the Black Barn Winery Estate near the small town of Havelock North in the Hawkes Bay. This spectacular location is a wine lover’s paradise, with Black Barn producing luxury Bordeaux style red varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Their award winning whites include Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. All their wines are produced from hand picked fruit from the Estate, with many wines only available through the cellar door.
The final day will see you either enjoying the art deco in Napier City with vineyard experiences, or back at Cape Kidnappers Golf Club, as this is a course that almost everyone wants to play twice.
